Hi,

Thankyou for your comments on the site, it's small but I am proud of it...

The Conservative Society was sadly dissafiliated as we dropped below twenty members this year, but the President of the society may make up the numbers in time, we shall have to wait and see.

The organisation of the Conservative Future branch was that it was run by a committee consisting of a President, Treasurer, Secretary, Social/PR secretary, vice-chairman and a first year representative. All except the last posts were elected at the end of each year, the final post being elected in the first term of each year. The society ran alot of speakers over the four years of my degree - we were the first to get Ian Duncan Smith as a speaker, long before he even ran for leader, and hosted social events from pizza to Mongolian BBQs. We ran in partnership with the ULU society for some time, but now run through the national list.

If you want to hear about Conservative Future and events occuring in central, and all other parts of London, or any other area of the country, email David Pugh - dpugh@conservatives.com - he should also be able to set you up with enough known conservatives in UCL to be able to recreate the society. The only requirements to set up a society are a President, a Treasurer and twenty names on a piece of paper. If I wasn't embarking on my finals, I would be happy to try and set up the society. But I will still be in London and able to help. As a graduate member of the union, I could certainly provide assistance in the unlikely event Robert Morrit, our current president, doesn't get us back on the rails.

Thanks

Phil
