Hi,

Glad to hear you are well. I am also very well, preparing for my graduation day next week when I say goodbye to normal contact with UCL - though I continue on through the alumni association.

I share in the commisserations over the passing of Denis Thatcher. He was well liked within and without the Party - and the only spouse of a Premiere to have had a tribute paid in a James Bond movie. He will be missed. Our thoughts are of course with Lady Thatcher, whose own health has recently been below par, even before recent events.

But on with business.

To join Conservative Future UCL, as with all UCL societies, you will have to wait until the allocated 'joining week'. You will be given advance warning of when this is by the Union and college officials. During this week, which should be in october, you should proceed to the Clubs and Societies Reception in the Bloomsbury Building - which will be eventually signposted, though you may have to ask for directions as there never were any whilst I was there! Then ask for a joining form. This form will be a list of all the clubs and societies and the price of joining them. Tick the tory box and hand it to them with your ID card. The process should be completed there and then. Having said that, when I went last year the printers broke down, but these things happen. Only to me, but they happen.

You wil then be a member of Conservative Future UCL and will be emailed about when the first meeting are.

Additionally, there will be an event called fresher's fayre in the main part of the college advertising all clubs and societies, where stalls will be laid out. You can find the Conservative Future stall there - though you may need to find one of the union leaflets to say when the stall will be out and where. Here you will recieve information on how to join, where the first meetings will be and where any meetings can be held for which you needn't be a member and that will take place before or shortly after fresher's fayre.

It isn't an easy process and they are reviewing it, so good luck and I hope you enjoy membership as much as I did!

Phil

: Hello phillippe, very good as well as before! The site you hqve created is excelledent and promises much goodness and adverts for the Consrevative partof of UK.

: Pity poor Mr Densis Thatcher, who I am sure you will have been made of aware passed away several weeks ago. I hope to send A CARD to Lady baroness Thatcher of kesteven when I get to UK very soon, and perhaps call upon her with greeting from my father, who also is passed away but who held dinner for her in early 1980s. please if you may inform me, what pray is the situation about UCL Conservative society? I have been in contact with the membership secretary through UCL's union, but he has been unable to inform me of how to become a member!!!

: Other than this, hearty greetings and best wishes, and pehaps we can get together and be good friends when at UCl.

: To you health, phillippe!

: Sincrely Regards,

: Stephen A. Sowah
